The Volkswagen Jetta (A5 or Mk5, codename 1K) is a compact car manufactured by Volkswagen between 2005 and 2010, as well as in China until 2012.

It is the Volkswagen Jetta’s fifth generation and the successor to the Volkswagen Bora.

It’s a three-box sedan version of the Mk5 Golf.

Overview on 2005 Volkswagen Jetta

On January 5, 2005, the fifth generation made its début at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Following the Volkswagen group’s New Beetle, it was the second Volkswagen product to make its world debut at a U.S. auto show.

The Mark 5 sedan went on sale in the United States first, indicating the car’s importance in that market for Volkswagen as the specific vehicle.

For the production of this model, VW spent $800 million upgrading its Puebla facility.

Although the car is manufactured in Mexico in the highest quantities, final assembly takes place in China and South Africa for the respective markets.

The Asian and African facilities, like the original manufacturing of the second generation in China, manufacture the automobile from a complete knock down (CKD) kit imported from the Puebla facility.

A new base model internal combustion engine parts and automated transmission were introduced.

The previous 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission were replaced with a smaller, more powerful, and fuel-efficient 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine and six-speed DSG transmission.

Fuel consumption has increased by 17 percent for the manual (from 8.2 L/100 km (34 mpgimp; 29 mpgUS) to 6.8 L/100 km (42 mpgimp; 35 mpgUS) and by 23 percent for the automatic (from 8.6 L/100 km (33 mpgimp; 27 mpgUS) to 6.6 L/100 km (43 mpgimp; 36 mpgUS) as a result of the adjustment).

The engine’s power increased by 7%, from 110 kW (148 hp; 150 PS) to 118 kW (158 horsepower; 160 PS), and torque increased by 20%.

In addition, 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration times have increased from 9.2 seconds to 8.5 seconds for the manual (an 8% improvement) and from 9.9 seconds to 8.5 seconds for the automatic (an 8% improvement) (a 14 percent improvement).
